High Street Butchers in Northern Ireland have added real value to their products which has proved to be hugely successful, with the D2 Food Systems turnkey solution for Foil Trays, Film and Tray Sealing Machinery. Our D2 500 Bench top Tray Sealer is a simple yet extremely well built machine for heat sealing film onto Aluminium Smoothwall Tray.

The package put together includes the machine along with the ongoing supply of Aluminium trays and our own heat sealable film.

The applications have ranged from meat packing to specialist ready meals, salads and puddings all of which are sealed with our own film to a very high standard in a very well presented format.

The D2 500 Tray Sealer is easy to use, simple to maintain and very reasonably priced in both purchase or rental options.

The D2 500 is the starter machine in our extensive range of Tray Sealing Machines which includes Drawer type, Rotary Turntable, Inline Pusher Bar and Random Infeed type Tray Sealers all of which can seal in either standard air closure or with Modified Atmosphere Packing.

This huge investment is due to the recognition and ongoing constant improvement strategy which firstly addresses the need for increased stock holdings of both raw materials and also increased stock holding of finished goods. Our goal is to ensure a reliable and dependable source, even during peak periods.  The current market trend for short or at no notice of “Promotional Packs” can seriously diminish our customers and therefore our own stockholdings. By more than doubling our storage capacity will now ensure that we are always in a position to meet demand.

Secondly, the new machinery showrooms will enable us to demonstrate on site complete “Packaging Solutions”. Many of our customers choose to benefit from sourcing their machinery, film and tray requirements from a single provider. We are the only Smoothwall tray manufacturer that is able to offer this and that has an experienced and dedicated engineering team to support our customers on their own site.”

The range development is in conjunction with the procurement of new presses to help D2 accommodate the additional smoothwall foil container and standard wrinkle wall foil container business that has been gained and developed over the last year. With additional diversity in metal supply we look forward to the factory expansion programme commencing in September 2010 as D2 consolidate their position as the number 1 supplier of smoothwall foil containers.

Whilst continuing to explore global markets for new developments, D2 can provide our customer with the assurance of a 100% UK sourced and produced range of smoothwall foil containers. Additional investment in people, production, stacking, handling and distribution are all scheduled to run concurrently.

From our machinery base in Harpenden, we have a large showroom set up to demonstrate our latest machinery and also hold our rental fleet of Tray Sealing Machinery.

Our demonstration and rental stock of Tray Sealing Machinery is continuously changing as we have an option to purchase our rental machinery at any point during the hire period. We call this the “Pay As You Go Scheme” and supply a set rebate structure when a machine is initially hired out. This frees up cash flow for our customers and allows them to try before they buy.

Ex Demonstration Unit, MY 2006 Mondini E-390 Evoluzione high speed fully automatic in-line, with 3 HS dies, (Pack Machine ideal for ready meals lines), this machine comes complete with tool trolleys and all auxiliary equipment, further full spec on request, This machine is an incredibly high specification and would be perfect for a High Speed packing line.

Ex Rental, MY 2007 Ulma Scorpius 600, Single Lane High Speed Tray Sealer, MAP ready and available with a Red Pump Vacuum System for high oxygen applications. The Ulma Scorpius 600 is a single lane high speed arm designed tray sealer and comes complete with tooling to suit a D276 D2 Aluminium Smooth Wall Foil Trays, and also has a dome tool set used for an ASDA  meat line. This machine would suit a high speed MAP meat application, but could be used in many other single lane operations too.
